Goldstein, Abraham, 1893-1953.

Abraham Goldstein, born Dec. 30, 1893 in Kiev, was an insurance executive in Hartford, Connecticut, active in Democratic politics in Hartford, and a leader of the Zionist movement. He served as vice president of the Zionist Organization of America, was on the executive committee of the American Jewish Congress, president of the Connecticut State Zionist Region, and chairman of the Emergency Committee for Palestine. Goldstein authored many pamphlets on Zionism as well as a weekly column for the Jewish Daily Forward in New York. He was regarded as an outstanding orator and supporter of Hebrew educational movements and charitable and religious causes. He died Nov. 16, 1953 in Sarasota, Fla.
