Albert, Carl Bert, 1908-2000
Albert was a lawyer and member of Congress. He represented Oklahoma's Third District in the U.S. House of Representatives 1947-1976; he was part of the Democratic leadership: Democratic Whip, 1955-1961; House Majority Leader, 1962-1970; Speaker of the House, 1971-1976. For many years he was a member of the House Committee on Agriculture.
