Phyllis Fenner was born October 24, 1899 in Almond, NY, and died February 26, 1982 in Manchester, VT. For 32 years she served as a school librarian in Manhasset, NY. She was the editor of numerous anthologies for children. The first, Magic Hoofs, was published in 1941. That same year a book she authored, Our Library: Story of a School Library that Works, was also published.
