Ellis, George Francis, d. 1910.

George Francis Ellis built the Metropolitan Hotel, Yalgoo in 1896. Ellis died in 1910 and the hotel continued under other ownership until it was delicensed in December 1924. The building was used as a boarding house but after WW2 it was dismantled to be used at Yalbarra station, to the north of Yalgoo.

Bell Ranch, located in San Miguel County N.M. had more than 700,000 acres and was originally two Mexican land grants. E.G. Stoddard founded the Red River Valley Company in 1898 which owned the Bell Ranch until 1946. In 1946 the Company sold the ranch and it was broken up into seven smaller ranches. Mrs. Harriet E.
