Carpenter, William, 1830-1896

William E. Carpenter, native of Oxfordshire, England and resident of Aurora, Ill. In Aug. 1862 he enlisted in Company H of 124th regiment of Illinois Infantry. After the war, he was a wagon maker, proprietor of a carriage shop in Aurora, Ill., and a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
