Heywood Brothers brought in Louisiana's first oil well in Jennings area in 1901. Before coming to Louisiana, Scott Heywood was a member of his brother Alba's Concert Company touring the U.S. and Canada. Heywood traveled to the Yukon where he was a gold miner.
