Born 1894. Served as a Sergeant with the 4th Missouri National Guard on Mexican border patrol, 1916. Attended the Officers Training Camp at Fort Riley, Kansas, 1917. Commissioned a Lieutenant in 1917 and served in France in 1918-1919 with Company I, 355th Infantry. Honorably discharged, 1919. Graduated with a degree in medicine in 1924. Recalled to active duty in 1942 with the rank of Major. Served in Europe and North Africa with the 3rd Auxiliary Surgical Group, 1942-1945. Returned to the United States and assigned to the station hospitals at Camp Brady and Kenedy, in Texas, 1945.
