Nichols, Herbert N. T.
Dr. H.N.T. (Herbert Nathan Thomas) Nichols (1878-1926) served as government doctor at Kotzebue, Alaska, in 1913-1916. His wife, Louise McConnel Nichols (1877-1939), served as a teacher and social worker during their years in Kotzebue. From Alaska, the Nichols family moved to Michigan, where Herbert Nichols established a medical practice in River Junction, Jackson County, in April 1917. Dr. Nichols died of blood poisoning at the age of 48, leaving two boys for Louise to raise. (Biographical information from Dr. Nathan L.
