Leslie Darvel Lloyd, of Portland, Oregon, graduated from Oregon State College in 1929 with a BS degree in Technical Forestry. He completed a master's degree in tropical forestry at the University of Michigan and had many international assignments advising and assisting in forest management in Central and South America, Asia, and Europe.
