Nat P. Kaplan, designer/builder, was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 5,1912. He received his Bachelor of Science at University of Connecticut in 1934 before moving on to Oklahoma State University where he learned about adobe. After returning from his war assignments in 1946, he briefly built cabins in Northern New Mexico.
