T. C. Catchings was born in Hinds County, Miss., Jan. 11, 1847. He attended University of Mississippi 1859-1860, and Oakland College in 1861; then entered the Confederate army in 1861 and served throughout the war. Afterwards he practiced law in Vicksburg and was elected to the state senate of Mississippi in 1875. He served as attorney-general of Mississippi, 1877-1885. After 1885, T. C. Catchings resumed his law practice in Vicksburg in partnership with his son. From the description...
