Thomas D. Evans, Sergeant of Co. G. of the 14th Regiment of Pennsylvania Cavalry. A native of Wales, Evans enlisted in Pittsburgh in September of 1862, to serve for three years. His 1864 furlough certificate lists him as 18 years of age and a resident of Birmingham, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. In January and February of 1864 the company was stationed at Jackson River, near Covington, Va. On February 13, Evans went home on a fifteen days furlough, and then was dispatched to assist at a Pittsburg...
