Henry Colburn was a British bookseller and publisher, known for his assertive marketing practices; he issued works by William Godwin, Mary Shelley, and Benjamin Disraeli, among others. Colburn also founded and edited the New Monthly Magazine (1814), the Literary Gazette (1817), and the United Service Journal and Naval and Military Magazine (1829).
