Frazier, Neta Lohnes, 1890-1990

Born in Michigan, Neta Lohnes Frazier has spent most of her life in the Spokane area. She graduated from Whitman College and taught English in Waitsburg, WA. During the 1930s she worked for the Spokane Valley Herald and began her fiction writing career. She has more than a dozen books and many articles to her credit. Frazier’s books, written for children, have a Michigan or Pacific Northwest history theme.

Neta (Lohnes) Frazier was born in Owosso, MI, in 1890. At the age of fifteen her family moved to Spokane, WA, and she spent much of the remainder of her life in that area. In college she became interested in the history of the early West, and at least half of her fourteen books are based on historical events. Four of her books were Junior Literary Guild selections.
