Biography
Grace MontaƱez Davis (b. 1926) is a native Californian born in the city of Los Angels. She attended Scared Heart High School, Immaculate Heart College where she earned her masters in microbiology and distinguished herself in the field of cancer research at the USC School of Medicine producing a number of publications from this work. Ms. Davis first entered public life in 1964 when she became the administrative assistant to Congressman George E. Brown, Jr. In 1965 she entered the Economic and Youth Opportunity Agency as a New York City program development specialist coordinating the Los Angeles County Schools' NYC arm. From 1966 to 1973 she held the title of Manpower Development Specialist with the U.S. Department of Labor working as a filed representative to the Los Angeles District Office. Grace Davis was appointed Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles in 1975,
