Taunton State Hospital (Mass.)
Biographical notes:
The State Lunatic Hospital at Taunton was established by Massachusetts in 1853 and opened in 1854. It was successfully renamed Taunton Lunatic Hospital in 1862, Taunton Insane Hospital in 1898, and Taunton State Hospital in 1909.
