Harry Legare Watson (1876-1956) graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1899 and went on to careers in law and journalism, chiefly in Greenwood, S.C.

Admitted to South Carolina Bar, 1908; trustee, Furman University, 1912-1920; Greenwood County highway commissioner; chairman, board of trustees, Greenwood Public Schools, 1915-1952; president, S.C. Press Association; director, Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
