Biographical notes:

Alan Michael Osur (1941-2021) Educator, author, coach, and software developer, Alan M. Osur received his Ph.D. from the University of Denver, Colorado. He was on active duty in the Air Force from 1963 - 1984. During those years, he had tours in photo reconnaissance at RAF Alconbury, England and Udorn, Thailand, before being assigned as Associate Professor and Director of U.S. History at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado. Other assignments included teaching at the Defense Race Relations Institute and as Chief of Social Actions at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Osur retired from the military in 1984 and began his second career as a software developer for more than twenty years. Often referred to as the "Father of USAFA Rugby," Dr. Osur started and coached the Academy's men's and women's rugby teams, winning the National Women's Championship in 2002 and 2003.
