The Florence-Goldfield Mining Company was one of the leading producers in the Goldfield mining district in Esmeralda County, Nevada. The mine was located on Malpais Mesa, and the mill was located on the outskirts of Goldfield. By 1904 the city of Goldfield was booming and had grown from a small mining claim into a camp of several thousand. The Goldfield News even boasted that the camp was, "The greatest camp ever known!" By August 1904, the average daily output of the mine was over $10,000 a day.
