Crown Publishers is a New York City-based publishing company that was established in 1933. In 1986, under its imprint Harmony Books, Crown Publishers, published When Brooklyn Was the World by Elliot Willensky. In 1988, Crown Publishing Group, whose imprints included Crown Publishers, Clarkson Potter, Inc., Harmony Books, and the Outlet Book Company Publishers, was then acquired by Random House, who in turn, was acquired by Bertelsmann AG, a media company based in Germany, in 1998.
