Biographical notes:
Robert Henderson Allen (1817-1900) of Oral Oaks plantation, Lunenburg County, Va., was a justice of the peace, commissioner of accounts, agent for the Freedmen's Bureau, proprietor of Oral Oaks School, and businessman.
