Ontario Agricultural College. Buildings.

History notes:

Alexander Hamilton and his younger brother, William Hamilton, cleared the 400 acres of land in the Arboretum on the south side of College Ave. E. in the early 1830s. William Hamilton married Ellen Donovan and built the stone house in 1859, which was known as Glen William Farm. Their son, WIlliam Hamilton Jr. and his family lived in the stone house until ca. 1910 when he sold it to O.A.C. He then built the 2 1/2 storey red brick house (known as "Hill Acre") which stands by the Cutten Club further west on College Ave. The house is currently used as rental housing. The stone house on the north side of College Ave. was owned by another unrelated Hamilton family.
