The Black Faculty Staff Caucus (BFSC) formed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974. The organization, known as the Carolina Black Caucus since the late 2000s, promotes affirmative action, recruitment and hiring of African Americans, racial justice and awareness, and equal opportunities for all minority members of the university community.
