Collier Cobb, Jr. (1893-1982) was a Chapel Hill, N.C. business leader and long-time chairman of the Orange County Board of Commissioners.
Cobb received an A.B. degree in 1914 and a B.S. degree in engineering in 1915 from UNC-Chapel Hill.
From 1938-1952 Cobb was a member of the Orange County Board of Commissioners, serving as president of the commission for 10 years.
He was a trustee of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1945-1953, serving as chairman of the building committee at the time N.C. Memorial Hospital was begun.
He was the son of Collier Cobb, Sr. (1862-1934), a professor of geology at UNC-Chapel Hill for many years, and the father of Collier Cobb, III (1928-2000) of Chapel Hill.
