History notes:
The Office of the Housing Expediter, Region 4 (Atlanta) had jurisdiction over Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia (with the exception of DC suburbs). In 1947 the Region acquired responsibility for Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas from the abolished Region 5 (Dallas, TX) in 1950.
