Biographical notes:
Ricardo Sánchez was born March 19, 1995 in El Paso, Texas. He was a professor of Chicano Studies at Washington State University and a poet in the Chicano movement. He spent 9 years in prisons for armed robberies; after his release in 1970 published poems which were a force in the Chicano movement. He died September 3, 1995 in El Paso, Texas.
