Giles E. Dawson worked at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. Matthew W. Black was a professor in the English Department at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked on the Variorum editions of Richard II and Henry IV, Part 2 and was curator of the H. H. Furness Memorial Library from 1945 to 1965.
