Biographical notes:
Rühle-Gerstel (née Gerstel) appears to have been a good friend of Werfel; they knew each other in Prague and corresponded during the First World War. Kohn was in possession of the original letters from Werfel and forwarded copies of them to S. Fischer Verlag.
