The Coast Line Stage and Express Line ran down the the San Antonio Valley in California from Salinas to Los Angeles.
William H. Taylor, born in 1829 in Virginia, arrived in California in 1861. He spent many years in the stage and livery business until purchasing, with William Buckley, the Coast Line Stage Co. Other stage companies he worked for prior to his purchase include, Pioneer Stage Company, the Overland Mail Company, Wells Fargo & Co, and the Flint-Bixby Coast Line Stage Co.
