Economic consultant (M.I.T., S.B., 1921; Harvard University, M.B.A., 1924, Ph. D., 1935), Thomas was an economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of N.Y. (1930-1934); an economic advisor for the Lehman Corporation, N.Y. (1935-1950); and an economist for the John Hancock Company, Boston (1944-1964).
