Biographical notes:

Robert Dayton Williams (February 12, 1844-September 17, 1929) married Anna L. Sedam (b. February 1846) around 1869. They had two daughters, Caroline (b. May 1871) and Josephine (b. June 1881). In 1870, The Williams family lived in Albany, New York, where Robert was a jeweler for W. H. Williams & Son. On September 17, 1870, Robert and Anna Williams sailed on the Anchor Line steamer Australia for a three-month tour in Europe. They departed New York City on September 17, 1870, and reached Glasgow, Scotland, on October 1.
