Biographical notes:
Merchant and banker of Anderson, S.C.; director of Anderson Cotton Mills; trustee of Patrick Military Institute; assistant enrolling officer during Civil War; native of Georgia; son of Judge James Bleckley (1803-1870) and Catherine E. Lutz Bleckley (1800-1874); husband of Ann Elizabeth Hammond; father of several children, including Zoe Bleckley Maxwell.
