Ft. Morgan, Colo. family. Traveled throughout Kansas, Colorado and the midwest as part of the Chautauqua circuit. Entertained with music, skits, and educational talks by Maude Hammond.

Planters of Beech Island and Redcliffe plantations, Aiken County, S.C.; Marcus Claudius Marcellus Hammond (1814-1876) was brother of James H[enry] Hammond (1807-1864) and John Fox Hammond (1820-1886); collection documents lives of families united by the 1882 marriage of Annie Sarah Hammond (1846-1927) to George Osborne Walker (1846-1897) and the uion of M.C.M. Hammond and Harriett P. Davies.
