Biographical notes:

The Art Directors Club of Philadelphia was organized, in 1924, as a chapter of the New York club, by ten local art directors. As the organization matured, so did its objectives. It had as it's original purpose in the 20's and 30's, purely professional interests. Then, in the late 50's, through the 60's, the Club achieved its zenith by espousing such causes as the Bi-Centennial - Urban Design and the rescue of Florentine Art. The Club was also dedicated to encouraging city officials to recognize the arts as vital to social welfare, which was also applauded by the press and television.
