Stout, Jacob, 1752-1823.
Biographical notes:
Miller, of Belleville (then part of Bloomfield Township), Essex County, New Jersey; was formerly a merchant in New York City; acted on his Loyalist sympathies during the American Revolution by commanding British privateers. This Jacob Stout identified based on relatives (sons Lenox and Arthur) named in the ledger. Although he used the name Jacob in his acount book and for his will, Stout's given name was Jacobus according to a published Stout family genealogy (1970) which nonetheless acknowledges his usage by listing him as "Jacob(us)" in his main entry.
From the description of Ledger, 1820-1827 (bulk 1820-1825). (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 122570836
