Biographical notes:

Julia Oliver, from Montgomery, Alabama, began publishing short stories in 1987 after her children were grown. A collection of her short stories, "Seventeen Times as High as the Moon," was published in 1992 and her first novel, "Goodbye to the Buttermilk Sky, " in 1994, both by the Black Belt Press. She has also written two one-act plays. Her articles for local newspapers and magazines appear under the name of Judy Oliver.
