Biographical notes:

Charles P. Clark received a commission as an acting ensign in the United States Navy in 1862 and was initially assigned to the Eastern Gulf Blockading Squadron and later to the Mississippi River Squadron. Clark mustered out in 1865 as an acting lieutenant.
