Biographical notes:

The firm of Robert Wetherill & Company was formed on January 1, 1872, by the brothers Robert and Richard Wetherill. The firm established a factory at 6th and Upland Streets in Chester, Pa., and specialized in the manufacture of Corliss steam engines, offering complete installations including boilers, shafting, pulleys and mill gearing.
