Biographical notes:
Pioneer Arizona cattleman, Col. Jesse W. Ellison established the "Q" Ranch east of Young, Arizona in 1885. In 1904, his daughter, Duette, married George W.P. Hunt, Arizona's first state governor. Ellison's grandson, Glenn "Slim" Ellison, a rancher, author and artist, published three books based on his experience as a cowboy in territorial Arizona. Ellison sold the "Q" Ranch in 1915 and moved to Phoenix.
