A. E. (or John) Weldon was an Irish novelist, playwright, poet, essayist, and theater critic. He wrote under the pseudonym Brinsley MacNamara.

Weldon was an Irish dramatist and novelist who wrote under the name of Brinsley MacNamara as a rule (he also used John Weldon, and Oliver Blyth).

Irish novelist, playwright, and drama critic Brinsley MacNamara (1890–1963) is a pseudonym for John Weldon. Some of MacNamara's plays were staged at the Abbey Theatre, where he had once acted and later became a board member.
