Biographical notes:

Geno Joseph Lucchesi was born in South Range, Michigan in 1913 and was a graduate of Painesdale High School and Ferris State College with a degree in business administration. After graduation he joined his father, Caesar Lucchesi, in the wholesale-retail gasoline and related products business. During World War II he worked as a civilian flight instructor, teaching Air Force cadets for the Fontana School of Aeronautics in Minnesota. Later he established and managed Lake Superior Aviation Corporation in Houghton, Michigan, giving instruction to ex-servicemen under the GI Bill. He was flight instructor, a commercial pilot and a pilot for the National Park Service to Isle Royale. Later he became a co-owner of Gray Eagles, Inc. In 1964 he rejoined with his father and became supervisor of maintenance for Range Oil & Gas Co., becoming president and manager after his father's death in 1967. Lucchesi was active in community affairs and a member of numerous civic organizations as well as a composer of several songs. Geno Lucchesi passed away in 1983.
