Milton Ager, a popular songwriter, became a favorite of performers including Al Jolson, Sophie Tucker, and Eddie Cantor. He found his greatest successes in the 1920s, composing several iconic songs, including "Hard Hearted Hannah (The Vamp of Savannah)," "Ain't She Sweet," and "Happy Days Are Here Again". The collection mostly reflects Ager's late unpublished works.
