Biographical notes:
Born Denver, Colorado. Graduated West High School in 1914. Attended University of Denver. Served with the 115th Regiment of Engineers and as a Second Lieutenant of the Thirty-second Infantry during World War I. City editor and investigative reporter for the Rocky Mountain News. Investigated the life of Frederick G. Bonfils, publisher of The Denver Post (1932-1933). Served as chief investigator for the Senate Munitions Committee (1935). Unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Denver, Colorado against Ben Stapleton (1939). Inaugurated the first radio news service. Public relations director for the Colorado Department of Highways. Injured in 1965, lived 12 years as an invalid.
