Tacoma Chamber of Commerce Company inc. 1844; Tacoma Commercial Club org. 1892; by 1916 the two merged to form the Tacoma Commercial Club and Chamber of Commerce; by 1921 known as the Tacoma Chamber of Commerce; in the early 1970s became the Tacoma Area Chamber of Commerce; now the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce.
