Gossett family.
Biographical notes:
The Gossetts were a family, that for several of its generations over many years, were prominent in the cotton textile industry. James Pleasant Gossett (1860-1936) was a founding member of the Cotton Textile Institute, and an owner of several textile mills. His son, Benjamin Brown Gossett, managed several of the family mills, and during WWII some of these mills won the "E" award for excellence. Benjamin Gossett sold the majority of his stock to Textron in 1946, and retired from the industry the following year.
