Waldrip, O. W.
Biographical notes:
O. W. Waldrip worked for the Holt Company, which sent him to Alaska to operate the heavy equipment in preparing the bed for the Alaska Railroad. He also went to Nome to break trail for the building of their roads. Waldrip was in Alaska for a year and then sent for his family. They lived in various government camps for two years. Other residents were Mr. Secrest (an engineer on the railroad) and wife, Dr. and Mrs. Berthold, and several other families. The time was around 1919 and 1920. (From notes supplied by donor.)
