Dobbs, Jeri L.

Biographical notes:

In 1958 Jeri L. Dobbs worked as a perfusionist in the UOMS Department of Physiology. In 1966 he began working with Dr. Albert Starr in Cardiology. Dr. Starr is credited as the co-creator of the Starr-Edwards heart valve. The first valves, implanted in the early 1960's, paved the way for further refinements of the process and the prosthesis leading to the Starr-Edwards heart valve being the primary artificial valve.
