Biographical notes:

Paul D. Harrison (1896- ) was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and moved to Denver with his family in 1900. They subsequently moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where Paul graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1917. He worked as a newspaper reporter for the Pueblo Star Journal (1916-1918) and for a Fort Worth, Texas, newpaper from 1918-1926. He returned to Colorado in 1926 and pursued a wholesale mercantile business partnership with outlets in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. In 1940, he returned to journalism with the Wichita Eagle and later the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph. During World War II, Harrison undertook public relations assignments for the U.S. Civil Service Commission and the Federal Office of Price Administration (O.P.A.). From 1945 through 1954, he engaged in wholesale distribution of Western American goods such as handicrafts and jewelry. Thereafter, until his retirement, he was employed in the office of the Colorado Secretary of State. He is an honorary life member of the Denver Westerners.
