Biographical notes:
The Wright-Blodgett Company was owned and operated by John Wood Blodgett, Sr. and later his son, John Wood Blodgett, Jr. The company was dissolved in 1948.
John Wood Blodgett, Sr. (1860-1951) was a lumberman, civic leader, and philanthropist, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to timberlands in Michigan, Blodgett acquired lands in Mississippi, Louisiana, California, and Oregon. Companies in which Blodgett was prominent were the Blodgett Co., Ltd.; the Wright-Blodgett Co., Ltd.; the Hill-Davis Co., Ltd., of all of which he was chairman or manager; and the Michigan-California Co., of which he was organizer and president.
