Biographical notes:

Henri Haskell was born in Maine in 1843, attended law school and in 1882 moved to Glendive, Montana Territory, where he established a law practice. During his law career he held several offices. He was appointed deputy clerk of the 3rd District Court and county attorney for Dawson County. He was Montana's first attorney general after statehood, was elected to the 16th Territorial House of Representatives, and to the Constitutional Convention in 1889. He was also appointed by Wilbur Fisk Sanders as the local attorney for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was married to Nellie Towle of New Hampshire, and later to Ella Knowles. He died in 1921.
